When nothing matters anymore what can be done at that time? Another person I trusted told a pointless lie
While I play my guitar in the corner of a small room The cigarette ash piles up in the shape of a heart
Change is on its way but in the meantime I'll sing today as I always do Before I learn the many things I'd avoided
That past of mine is in this melody of mine It doesn't frighten me This is a song for the future
When it's time for your destination to change It will arrive with fierce pain
Childhood memories come with a longing With a seashell pressed to my ear, I saw the ocean
If it brings a smile to your face, I'll sing today as I always do If you're angry there's no need to hide your feelings
I yell from right where I am I love you more than anything My small bed becomes my stage
I feel a gentle breeze on my cheek The meadows of lush green are endless
Change is on its way but in the meantime I'll endure today as I always do No matter how many times I fall I'll show how I rise
If I am to disappear from here one day, I'll sing today as I always do After I have learned the many things I avoided It could be the melody that connects you and I It won't frighten me This is a song for the future
原題は『ONCE WERE BROTHERS:ROBBIE ROBERTSON AND THE BAND』。「ROBBIE ROBERTSON AND THE BAND」とあるように、ロビー・ロバートソンとその妻の視点からのTHE BANDの物語だった。
「The Band on MV」のサイトから「The Weight (Remastered)」を紹介したい。
The Weight 作詞:Robbie Robertson
I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead Just need to find a place where I can lay my head 'Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?' He just grinned and shook my hand and, 'No', was all he said
Take a load off Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off Fanny And (and)(and)you put the load right on me
